Car rental prices forecast to climb on higher rates, rand

Tourists are expected to see car rental prices increase this year because of a rise in interest rates - the fluctuating rand and high inflation.

This is word from the industry's three main palyers - Avis, Budget and Europcar announcing - that they rented about 55 000 vehicles at an average daily rate of R300.

Last year - 2.6-million rentals were booked making it a total of more than 16-million rental days.
