De Kock parole not approved

Justice minister Michael Masutha - has announced former death squad commander - Eugene De Kock - has not been granted parole.

Masutha has referred the application back to process- saying the families affected have not been consulted - and De Kock may apply for parole again in 12 months.

De Kock was sentenced to two life terms - and more than 200 years for 89 charges - including conspiracy to commit murder - fraud and kidnapping.

This is the second time De Kock has applied for parole in his 20 years behind bars- no response was given in his first application.
