Gauteng legislature wants Malema to pay for damage

JOHANNESBURG - In an intervew with eNCA, deputy speaker for the Gauteng legislature Uhuru Moiloa said Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema should be brought to book for damage caused during an EFF sit-in.

We are relentless with our commitment that Mr. Malema and his group are brought to book, said Moilao speaking to eNCA on Wednesday.

The EFF sit-in turned violent on Tuesday and police struggled to control the gathering outside the Johannesburg legislature.

Malema had staged a sit-in against a ban on his members wearing red overalls to the legislature house.

Moiloa said:  An assessment of the actual damages will be done. Once done this will be the kind of data use for the charges we have laid against Malema.
