SAA flight operated by women

SAA (South African Airways) general manager of operations, Zuks Ramasia, says even though womens month is ending next week, her company will continue to celebrate women.

Speaking on Morning Live, Ramasia says on Thursday morning an all-female crew for flight SA313 will fly from Johannesburg to Cape Town. In 20 years, the national airliner has managed to transform this traditionally male dominated business into an 80% male and 20% female environment across all skills including the complex areas.

Ramasia says gone are the days where woman are looked down upon simply because some industries were perceived to be only for males. She has urged women to tap into industries that were dominated by men in the past and has also encouraged women to take part in the SAA recruitment opportunities.

She adds that this initiative is part of the governments National Development Plan (NDP).
