Opposition parties are expected to debate President Jacob Zuma's budget speech, that he is currently delivering in parliament.

The DA's Mmusi Maimane and EFF commander in chief Julius Malema, will be among the MP's to take a jab at Zuma's outline of plans, including the implementation of the NDP.

President Zuma says he is encouraged by the overwhelming support for the National development plan since the last parliament sitting.

President Jacob Zuma has responded to critcism on his State of the Nation Address after two days of heated debates in the National Assembly.

Zuma says government would ensure all levels of administration prioritise the management of complaints, to improve the quality of service delivery across departments.

Zuma re-emphasised that government would bridge mzansi's skills shortage through training 30 000 artisans by 2030 supporting higher education and training and focus on job creation.

Power utility Eskom is warning consumers of more possible load reductions scheduled this evening from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

Eskom spokesperson Andrew Etzinger says the power cuts  implemented are because the power system remains severely costraints.

Last night, during the state of the nation address President Jacob Zuma announced government has embark on plan to restructure the energy sector.

Zuma says progress at the multibillion Medupi power station will be accelerated to ensure its power delivery - by the December 2014

The five month strike is seen as a symbol of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union's growing strength in the mining industry.

President Jacob Zuma is to provide parliment with a comprehensive report on the security upgrades at his Nkandla homestead within the next 30 days.

Zuma announced the move in a letter to the speaker of the national assembly Baleka Mbethe, that was published in parliament papers.

Government and the public protector have been at loggerheads over the contents of the report into the R246 mil Nkandla upgrades,with the matter to be heard in court.

Madonsela announced in March that she found that Zuma unduly benefitted from the upgrades.

South Africa's investor confidence has slightly grown with mzansi climbing up two spots to be the 13th most attractive destination for foreign direct investment.

Mzansi's political stability and the appointment of new finance minister Nhlanhla Nene by President Jacob Zuma, are some factors that attributed to the improvement.

Meanwhile, The United States ranked top, with China and Canada in second and third respectively.

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela will probe the development of a R2 billion town in President Jacob Zuma's home village of Nkandla.

Lobby group AfriForum lodged a complaint with the Public Protector in 2012, asking her to probe the Umlalazi Nkandla Smart Growth Centre project, dubbed "Zumaville".

More than R1bn of taxpayers' money is reported to have been  directed into the development, while a further R1bn would be raised from the private sector.

New and old members of parliament  are being sworn in by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng presiding over the country's fifth parliament.

 MP's who have taken oath so far are President Jacob Zuma -deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa,EFF leader Juliuas Malema and the DA's Mmusi Maimane amoung many.

Zuma is expected to remain as an MP until he is formally elected for a second term by members of the National Assembly.

Opposition parties are up in arms over government's decision to take Public Protector Thuli Madonsela to the high court for a review of her Nkandla report.

Barely a week after the elections the ministers are going to court to seek clarity on madonsela's findings which they call irrational.

They futhur state that Madonsela's investigations contradict a section in the constitution which vests national security in Parliament.

The security cluster on the Nkandla report is taking public protector Thuli Madonsela to the high court on grounds with which she conducted her investigations.

The ministers say Madonsela's findings and recommendations for president Jacob Zuma are irrational and trespass section 198 of the constitution.

The ministers legal team has prepared and filed a review papers which will be taken to court.

Madonsela found that  Zuma had unduly benefited from the security upgrades and ordered him to pay a portion of it.

Freedom day celebrations continue  with SA once again pay tribute to late President Nelson Mandela in Cape town this morning.

A bronze bust of the former president has been unveiled outside Parliament to commemorate 20 years of freedomand mzansi's first democratically elected President.

Meanwhile President Jacob Zuma said SA would not forget the solidarity recieved from foreign nationals in the liberation of the country.

President Jacob Zuma has bestowed 53 national orders to people whose work has benefited and changed the lives of South Africans.

The award is the single highest honour that a country can bestow singling out orders in bronze silver and gold based on the degrees of achievement.

Among those honoured were Caster Semenya ,Lucas Sithole,Cameran van der Burgh and Zakes Mda .
